Jackett reign starts with point
Kenny Jackett began his reign as Wolves boss with a 0-0 stalemate against Preston at Deepdale.
In his first competitive game since taking over at last year's relegated outfit, former Millwall manager Jackett saw two of the Football League's founding clubs share the spoils.
The visitors created the better chances, with Bakary Sako forcing Declan Rudd into a low save on 13 minutes, before the same player fired well over from distance.
Leigh Griffiths, starting his first Wanderers game after two successful years on loan at Hibernian, was later denied by John Welsh's headed goal-line clearance on 37 minutes.
Preston new boy Kevin Davies was a constant menace for the hosts and went close within a minute of the restart as Carl Ikeme charged down his shot, which then deflected narrowly wide.
North End substitute Will Hayhurst almost made an immediate impact on 80 minutes as Davies came within inches of converting his left-wing cross.
The hosts piled forward in the closing minutes, but they were unable to break the deadlock.
