First, the home side were poor. Secondly the away side weren't exactly great. The officials, well they didn't fair much better. The weather was wet, damp and horrible and the crowd was the poorest at Deepdale for quite some time for only the second home game of the season.

Preston went down early on to some slack defending which let old boy Gareth Ainsworth poke home from inside the box. Little else happened in the first half except for the injury to Kelvin Wilson who was stretchered off an dlooks to be out for a while. Mckormack replaced him but Preston showed little attacking intent until just before the break.

Nugent forced the QPR keeper into a good save and then a cross from Pugh was put over by the under 21 international.

The weather did not help things but the display by both clubs was appalling as Prestton cam emor einto the game late on creating some kind of pressure. This resulted in substitute Lewis Neal cross for an unmarked Mckenna to head home for a draw.
