Davies stars in Preston routCraig Davies' second-half hat-trick led Preston to a 6-1 victory at Deepdale as Carlisle fell back into the League One relegation zone.Gary Madine netted for the second consecutive game since rejoining the Cumbrians on loan four minutes before half-time, but at that point the visitors were already two goals behind after Stuart Beavon and Alan Browne had scored for North End.After the break Davies grabbed his treble and Lee Holmes got in on the act to hand Carlisle a first defeat in four games.Preston took the lead in the 10th minute when Beavon headed home Paul Gallagher's superb free-kick before Browne tapped in his first goal in English football after a superb run from Holmes 10 minutes later. From nowhere the visitors gave themselves a lifeline when Madine headed home Danny Redmond's corner at the back post. But their recovery hopes were dashed when goalkeeper Jordan Pickford spilled Davies' cross and Neil Kilkenny squared the ball for Holmes to find the empty net.Bolton-loanee Davies then took centre stage, grabbing his first goal by putting away Scott Laird's cross at the second attempt before putting away another simple finish after good work from Josh Brownhill. And he completed the rout, and his hat-trick, by smashing the ball past Pickford after a lovely Preston move with seven minutes remaining
