Punchless Preston Pay Price In Bore Draw

Make no doubt that QPR just steadying their ship came for a point and attacked on the break looking lively at times but rarely threatening.

Preston who have been unbeaten at Deepdale on a Tuesday evening for over a year were toothless and lacked initiative over the ninety minutes.

Preston were awarded a penalty after a handball was spotted in the box by the linesman. Gallagher, Preston's fourth penalty taker of the season managed to pass the ball almost down the middle of the goal into the arms of the visiting keeper.

Preston were rarely pressurised with St Ledger in for the injured Chilvers. Simpson decided to change things up top with Agyemang starting, Carter after scoring on Saturday out of the squad with Gallagher out left. With Lewis Neal thinking what he must do to get a game, Paul Simspon once again changed round the side into an estranged formula.

A flicked header in the second half forced a wonderful save out of the QPR goalkeeper which was the moment of the match followed by sub Whaley's blast straight at the keeper.

There is no doubt that these were two of the poorest sides in the league with QPR lacking adventure and Preston just ineffective all round. Preston will face a test on Saturday as Plymouth arrive and will pose more of a threat than tonight's poor opponents.
