Preston are trying really hard to throw away a play-off position at the moment after one of the poorest performances under the reign of Billy Davies. Not only were the men in White poor but the officials managed to match the away side with some strange decisions. However, we should not take anything away from the fact that Preston were downright poor.

After bossing the game for the first forty minutes, Preston must be the best side in the league at passing without penetration. Mckenna forgot how to pass forward and O'Neill di dnot look fit on his return. Tactically the away side were inept with three frontmen starting. Sheff Wed took the lead with the first real attack of the game before half time. From a corner, Nash the Preston keeper was being held by Burton before the ball was nodded on for Burton to head in from a yard out.

The game got worst. After half time Preston fell to a sucker punch as the home side took a quick throw in to land a one on one with keeper Nash who was left stranded as the ball ended up in the back of the net.

It was officially scarf day for the away fans and many felt like using them to good effect after the worst performances of the season. The frontline managed no shots on goal with the midfield creating little. A penalty seemed apparent when Whaley was dragged down in the box whilst being hugged by a defender but the referee as throughout the game favoured the home side.

It is apparent that Preston will now need to bring somebody up front as Dichio has been ruled out for two weeks if they wish to make the top six.
